We Are Moving

We are moving to Google Classroom!

Effective April 20th, 2020, all of your child's assignment can be found on the 
CES Kindergarten Crew Google Classroom. To access this, you need to first be logged into 
the gmail account that you sent to me. The new CES Kindergarten Crew Google Classroom link
can be found on the CES website by clicking 'students' then 'classroom websites'  and then scrolling down to the 
Kindergarten section on that page.

We know this is a lot of change in a short about of time. 
We thank you for your patience and understanding as we shift over to using all Google platforms.

Assignments, instruction and information will no longer be posted to this blog.

Literacy
Cut and sort the digraph sorting sheet that is in your cubby. Parents: Here are the words for that go with the pictures just in case your child isn't sure what the name of a picture is when they are sorting. You may want to point and name each picture prior to your child cutting the pictures apart. They should put the headings at the top and then the pictures underneath the correct digraph. Pictures: cheese, shed, thimble, shop, thumb, sheep, think, shave, chop, thirteen, chief, shoe, chimney, cherries, thermos.

Read for at least 15 minutes and log it in the CES Reading Challenge.

This week was supposed to be "I Love to Read Week" at CES. Here is a video that was put together for all of you!

  • Do you have a white crayon at home? Write a muscle word with a white crayon on white paper. Now take a colored marker and color over your muscle word. Did your muscle word appear? If it didn’t, push down a little harder on your white crayon this time when you write a muscle word and try again. See if you can make this magic trick work with 5 muscle words.
  • Read for at least 15 minutes and log it in the CES Reading Challenge. You can read from your reading bag, Raz Kids, Epic, books from home...
  • Your child can revisit any of my warm up exercises for this skill on the Reader’s Workshop page called Stretching Out and Zapping Words. Have your child stretch out, zap and write lunch, march, chimp

        newspapers, etc and find 15 muscle words.

        • Parents: say the following sentence to your child and have them write it in their best “kid spelling”.  The chimp had chips for lunch.
