Day #1 - Remote Learning (March 23rd)

Here we go....
     Below is a list of activities/lessons/links for today as well as good morning video from me. Our goal at this time is to help the children maintain skills. Please do not overwhelm yourself and/or your kindergartner. Make sure you all take breaks and come up with a schedule that works for all of you. The activities can be done in whatever order works for you. I am here to try to answer any questions you may have.

Monday, March 23rd - Day #1 Remote Learning

Morning Meeting

 

Parents: Please have your child read the above Morning Message to you. 
 If you want your child to work on concentration building 
to start their day, click on the link below. The video is 5 min long.



Literacy
  • Introduce new muscle words: of & for (see morning video on blog)

  • Check out the shared reading lesson on the Reader’s Workshop page of the blog. Kindergartners should be reading along. 


  • Read th mini paper book, practice coloring inside the lines

  • Log onto Raz-Kids and complete 2 books (listen, read, answer questions)
Math
  • Practice math subtraction flash cards

  • Complete one page in an addition fact book

  • Check out the math page on the blog for today’s card game
Writing

  • Check out the Writer’s Workshop page of the blog to see my sentence writing video for today. 

  • Complete one page in the writing journal. Write 2 sentences about a topic of your choice (with all 3 sentence rules) and a picture. 

Habits of Mind Enrichment

  • Click on this Scholastic Magazine link. Complete this week’s Weekly Reader 
My Wild Weather Day and worksheets
Check in

  • Please have your child complete the daily check-in at the end of each day! They may need some help typing the answer to the last question each day.
