  • Do you have a white crayon at home? Write a muscle word with a white crayon on white paper. Now take a colored marker and color over your muscle word. Did your muscle word appear? If it didn’t, push down a little harder on your white crayon this time when you write a muscle word and try again. See if you can make this magic trick work with 5 muscle words.
  • Read for at least 15 minutes and log it in the CES Reading Challenge. You can read from your reading bag, Raz Kids, Epic, books from home...
  • Your child can revisit any of my warm up exercises for this skill on the Reader’s Workshop page called Stretching Out and Zapping Words. Have your child stretch out, zap and write lunch, march, chimp
